NSW Open to David Palmer

21/08/2008 8:51:00 AM
It has been a magnificent couple of weeks for Lithgow’s David Palmer.

He won the Australian Squash Open and then backed up that win to take out the NSW Open Singles and Doubles titles.

It was an impressive showing by Palmer who cruised through both singles titles without losing a set.

In the NSW Open Palmer, ranked in No 5 in the world, took on Wyong’s Matt Kowalski ranked 99.

Palmer was never troubled taking out the title in three sets 11-8, 11-2 and 11-9.

He then teamed up with Bathurst 17 year old Cameron Deehan to clinch the NSW Double’s title beating Shane Doherty and Jason McLaughlan by three sets to one.

Palmer was pleased with his efforts having won the Australian Open for the first time and also taking out both titles without dropping a set.

The wins go along with his British Open title and several other tournaments around the world where he either won or made it to the finals making 2008 being a year to remember.
